Musée Barbier-Mueller

Musée Barbier-Mueller

Founded in 1977, the museum is located in the heart of the Old Town of Geneva. It aims to preserve, study and publish a collection begun by Josef Mueller in 1907 and continued to this day by his heirs. This collection serves thousands of parts and includes works of art from tribal and classical antiquity, as well as sculptures, fabrics and ornaments from cultures around the world. Many of these items are considered essential masterpieces. The Barbier-Mueller Museum organizes two temporary exhibitions a year, presenting a selection of objects from the collection. Only these parts are visible to the public.
